They are designed with a small slit and nice rounded edges on the sides. The shorts are made of 100% organic cotton poplin, which is a pleasantly light and comfortable material on hot summer days. The shorts have an elastic band and drawstring at the waist and practical pockets on the sides. All interior stitching is French seamed to get a delicate and luxurious finish.
